Daylight Saving Time 2027: Every Clock Change Around the World

• 124 time zones change their clocks in 2027, grouped into 9 IANA region families.
• The switches happen on different dates. The US moves in March and November, Europe in late March and late October — so for a few weeks each year the US–Europe gap is one hour off its usual value.
• Southern hemisphere zones run in reverse. Australia, New Zealand and Chile end DST in April and restart it around October, mirroring their seasons.
• Most of humanity skips it. China, India, Japan, most of Africa and most of Asia keep fixed offsets year-round; roughly 70 countries — about a quarter of the world — still use DST.

Recent changes to who observes DST

The map keeps shrinking. Mexico dropped DST in 2022 (US-border municipalities excepted), Iran did the same year, Brazil left in 2019, and Turkey, Russia and Jordan now run permanent offsets. Egypt went the other way, reinstating DST in 2023. In the United States, the Sunshine Protection Act — which would make daylight saving time permanent nationwide — has repeatedly passed committee discussion without becoming law, and the EU voted to end seasonal changes back in 2018 but never fixed a final date, so members keep switching for now.
